A named safeguarding lead and escalation route must exist before child-facing activity begins.
Little Warriors Cancer Foundation
Working with children requires more than good intentions. Safeguarding controls must be established before child-facing programmes or volunteer roles open.
The safeguarding framework is in development. This page describes the controls Little Warriors intends to require before child-facing activity begins; it is not presented as a board-adopted safeguarding policy.
A named safeguarding lead and escalation route must exist before child-facing activity begins.
Relevant staff and volunteers should be screened, trained and bound by an approved code of conduct.
Child contact, transport, photography, events, referrals and partner activity should have clear risk controls.
Concerns must have documented reporting, incident-management, escalation and record-keeping procedures.
No child-facing programme or volunteer role should be described as open until the safeguarding framework and responsible oversight are formally approved.
